Dagger Rogue Skill Guide

Postby link_killer » Tue May 19, 2009 10:45 pm

~Introduction~

Welcome to LinkKiller's skill guide to the Dagger Rogue. The goal of this guide is to give a clear job by job rundown of what skills would be most useful to a dagger rogue and plan out their future without any SP issues. Although this guide attempts to provide the "best" future for your Rogue, I encourage you to try things out for yourself and decide what works best for you.

~Section 1: Main Human Path~

Lv 1 - 19 ~ Rogue:
Lv 5 Dusk Slashing
Lv 1 Zephyr
Lv 1 Blindside
Lv 1 Death Sign
Lv 2 Light Evasion
Lv 5 Dagger Training
Lv 1 Burning Rage

SPs Remaining at Lv 20: 18

Rundown:
Dusk Slashing is your primary damaging technique, the bleeding will help a lot for PvP and Ghunting. Zephyr is your trademark buff. Blindside and Death Sign add to your crit chance/damage and considering this is a very crit focused build, its always nice to have those kind of things. Dagger training will help increase your damage output some, and Light Evasion is taken over Light Armor Mastery since evading altogether is better than damage reduction. Burning Rage is a toggle-able buff that grants additional attack power while draining your HP, good for PvP but not advised for PvM.

Lv 20 - 39 ~ Ruffian:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 5 Rage Step
Lv 5 Wind Breaking
Lv 2 Zephyr
Lv 2 Blindside
Lv 1 Quick Move
Lv 2 Detect Hole
Lv 4 Light Evasion
Lv 10 Dagger Training
Lv 2 Shadow Instinct
Lv 2 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 2 Burning Rage

SPs Remaining at Lv 40: 22

Rundown:
Rage Step is a good PvP/Ghunting skill taken as apposed to Perforate, Wind Breaking is your AoE and has DoT damage so its usefull even when 1v1ing. Quick Move helps cancel out the speed penalty when stealthed and helps you run away should you decide to try out PK mode. Detect hole and Diabolic Instinct are more crit related skills so you'll want to max both. Shadow Instinct is another evasion raising passive, also max.

Lv 40 - 74 ~ Thief:
Lv 5 Rapid Slashing
Lv 15 Rage Step
Lv 10 Wind Breaking
Lv 10 Sudden Raid
Lv 4 Zephyr
Lv 4 Blindside
Lv 3 Quick Move
Lv 3 Stealth
Lv 4 Detect Hole
Lv 7 Light Evasion
Lv 15 Dagger Training
Lv 4 Shadow Instinct
Lv 4 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 1 Lace

SPs Remaining at Lv 75: 72

Rundown:
Rapid Slashing is the evolved form of Dusk Slashing, so of coarse you want to get that. Sudden Raid is a stun skill used from stealth, your opening move in any PvP fight. Stealth is your upper hand in PvP, and pretty fun just to mess around with. Not very usefull for PvM though as you cant go into stealth while engaged in combat. Lace is a HP regenerating skill, not all that usefull but worth it for the low SP cost.

Lv 75 - 104 ~ Assassin:
Lv 20 Rage Step
Lv 15 Wind Breaking
Lv 20 Sudden Raid
Lv 5 Shadow Spin
Lv 6 Zephyr
Lv 7 Blindside
Lv 2 Rapid Attack
Lv 2 Rapid Movement
Lv 5 Quick Move
Lv 7 Stealth
Lv 6 Detect Hole
Lv 9 Light Evasion
Lv 20 Dagger Training
Lv 7 Shadow Instinct
Lv 7 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 2 Predator
Lv 2 Lace

SPs Remaining at Lv 105: 12

Rundown:
Rapid Attack and Rapid Movement further add to your speed-demonness, not essential but nice to have. Predator increases your crit damage in exchange for defense, by this point you'll have a very high crit rate so its well worth it.

~RESKILL~

Lv 105 - 140 ~ Blade Taker:
Lv 10 Dusk Slashing
Lv 15 Rapid Slashing
Lv 1 Wind Breaking
Lv 1 Sudden Raid
Lv 1 Sky Shadow
Lv 5 Deadly Strike
Lv 5 Ghost Break
Lv 5 Back Break
Lv 4 Sky Shadow
Lv 8 Zephyr
Lv 9 Blindside
Lv 1 Death Sign
Lv 4 Rapid Attack
Lv 4 Rapid Movement
Lv 7 Quick Move
Lv 8 Detect Hole
Lv 10 Light Evasion
Lv 25 Dagger Training
Lv 9 Shadow Instinct
Lv 9 Diabolic Instinct
Lv 4 Predator
Lv 5 Dual Wield Training
Lv 5 Dual Wield Mastery
Lv 6 Dual Wield Expertise
Lv 3 Burning Rage
Lv 3 Lace

SPs Remaining at Lv 120: 4 SUmber Gpotato

LUna Online RUne knight guide

Level 1-20 Fighter > level 20-40 Warrior > level 40-75 Infantryman > level 75-105 Rune Knight > level 105 Sword Master.

Q. Infantryman?? Is it good to go Infantryman instead of Swordsman? and if I follow this path what skills should I go for?

A. Yes, although your only going to lose 90 crit on passive, but you can counter it with crit slime anyway. As for skills here what you need:

Fighter job(level 1-20)
1. Max Fighter Heart.
2. Max Crash Blow.
3. Max Uppercut.
4. Max 2H Training.
5a. Max Sword Training.

Note : Yes you are going to be 2H user until you enter Sword Master level.

Warrior job(level 20-40)
1. Max Risk Taker.
2. Max Fighter Heart.
3. Max Warrior Form.
4. Max Wheel Wind.
5. Max Crash Blow.
6. Max 2H Training.
7a. Max Sword Training.

Note: Crash Blow and Wheel Wind are going to be your main attack, feel free to spend other sp on other skills if you want.

Infantryman job(level 40-75)
1. Level 1 Attract Circle.
2. Max Blessing Guard.
3. Max Troopership.
4. Max Enchanced HP.

Note: Yes I know this is going to be a very difficult path to level since Infantryman doesn't offer much attack skills and mostly based on defend. But trust me its worth to get Infantryman as it will benefit you later in Sword Master level. If you found this path are so troublesome, you can go for Swordsman but later on Sword Master level you will miss few useful skills provided in Infantryman. You can spend the extra sp gained here on other skills you see fit, or save it for next job which is Rune Knight.

Rune Knight job(level 75-105)
1. Max all aura's.
2. Max Burning Crash.
3. Max Earthquake.
4. Max Sword Storm.
5. Max Rune Impact.
6. Max Sword Training.
7. Max Spirit Sword.

Note: Woot! finally some attack skills, yes since you are 2H user so there are few new offense skills available for you. At this point you able to tank enough monsters and also damage them while waiting date dungeon to be reset.

Sword Master job(level 105)
1. Max Sonic Boom.
2. Max Dual Sonic Boom.
3. Max Blunt Shield.
4. Max Rune Impact.
5. Max Fighter Heart.
6. Max Warrior Form.
7. Max Dual Wield Expertise.
8. Max Dual Wield Training.
9. Max Dual Weapon Accuracy.
10. Max Blessing Guard.
11. Max Troopership.
12. Max Risk Taker.
13. Max Shield Barrier(optional).
14. Max Sword Storm(optional for AoE leveling).
15. Max Sword Spin(optional for AoE leveling).
16. Max all aura's
17. Max Spirit Sword.
18. Max Sword Training.
19. Max Heavy Armor Expertise.
20. Max Enchanced HP (optional).
21. Max Heavy Weapon Accuracy.

Note: Congratulation on achieving Sword Master path. Yes as soon as you enter Sword Master you must use the skill reset. After that get all the skills I mention above. If you can't raise all to max, get the Sonic Boom, Rune Impact and other passive mention above.

Q. Does shield skills work with Dual Wielding?

A. Yes it does. That is why I provide the Infantryman path since you will get 2 stun skills at Sword Master level as well as Shield Barrier.

Q. What gear do you prefer for me to use and what are the stat build?

A. I recommended the Holy Iron Chain Knight gear since its an Heavy Armor gear so your defense would be boost nicely due to Heavy Armor Expertise. The stat build should be full STR on Sword Master path.

Q. What are the leveling spots you recommended?

A.The leveling spot are like this:

Level 20-40 = Tarintus, Moon Blind Forest.

Level 40-75 = Mont Blanc Port, Dryed Gazell Fall, Howling Cave 1F/2F

Level 75-105 = Howling Cave 2F, Ghost Swamp Valley, Naila Harbor.

Note: You need to do date dungeon as well.

Q. Which npc should I talk to for the job change?

A. Here are the npc list for job change:

1. Warrior : Wiff in Alker Harbor.

2. Infantryman : Wiff in Alker Harbor.
3. Rune Knight : Celerian in Alker Harbor.
4. Sword Master : Cindamook in Naila Village.

Q. Can I pvp/pve well in Sword Master if I follow this path?

A. Yes, as for PVP, you are able to rune impact the target and follow up another stun skill with Blunt Shield. This would result a stun locking thus bully your opponent until he or she fed up. lol . As for PVE yes you should able to solo boss easily due to stun lock and for monster, you need to get Sword Storm and Sword Spin as your AoE skills.

Q. I have reset my skill at 105, now which skills should I spend my SP on first?

A. Here, go from top to bottom (credit to Sylvie :D )

Max:
dual wield expertise
dual wield training
dual wield accuracy
Rune Impact
Double Sonic Blast
Fighter's Heart
Warrior Form
Rampage Aura
Shield Aura
Accuracy Aura
Blessing Guard
Shield Barrier
Enhanced HP
Sword Training
Heavy Armor Expertise
Heavy Weapon Accuracy
Troopership
Spirit Sword
Sonic Boom
Sword Storm

and then get level 1 attract circle as well as spinning sword. Max spinning sword as you level and leave attract circle at level 1. You can max Rune Cry too if you want to, it can be helpful when you're tanking ^^

I guess this is all for now, feel free to comment and if there is new ideas or suggestion I will update it in this guide. Thank you for reading.

and packing up your potions for the next leveling map

(Zakandia)
Monsters:brown bear,Black Bear,goblins,Golems

Lvl 20-30
Outside zakandia Village there are bears roaming around Kill them until you reach your level to 20-25

Lvl 60-75

This map is my favorite =)

Kill the mimics first until you reach 65 and little by little kill the violets ones until you reach level 70(forgot the name of that Monster)

Then head straight to the gargoyles and kill them until level 75

For me i level up here until 80 the exp is still goods

Kill them elimanate them Until you reach level 100

Note: The red skeletons and others Drop Wiesel And Harmel this items is usefull in crafting weapon and armor
and Look now you have lot of gold... you can earn here around 600-700M -minus the expenses you use in potions and Enchanting + buying a weapon

AT LAST WERE HERE
NAILA HARBOR!

(Naila Harbor)
Level 100-113

Templar Guide

Attributes:
3 Int : 1 Vit
Keep this ratio all the way from 1 – 99 (From levels 51 – 70 add 5 Int 1 Vit odd levels and 4 Int 2 Vit even levels)

The Base Skill Build:
Here are the base Templar skills that you will be needing (All level 6 skills can be taken to 7 if you have enoguh money). I would recommend getting the PVP skills later on.

Healer Skills:
Heal: 3 (Use a skill stone to take it to 4)
Divine Aura: 1 (Required)
Inteligence Blow: 7
Holy Light: 6
Emergency Heal: 1 (To Unlock Mental Barrier)
Mental Barrier: 7
Teleport: 1
Revive: 4 (Use a skill stone to take it to 5. Optionally you can take Incarnation instead)
Chrono: 1
Mind Blast: 6 (PVP Skill)
Saint Strike: 6 (PVP Skill)

Templar:
Brain Blow: 7
Mental Blow: 7
Grey Mask: 1 (To Unlock Erase)
Euphoria: 1 (To Unlock Group Euphoria)
Blunt Mastery: 7
Group Euphoria: 6 (Not Needed till 70+)
White Curse: 6
Destruction: 6
Cast Over: 1 (Useful for Quick Ressing)
Erase: 6 (PVP Skill)
Reflect: 6 (PVP Skill)
Marea’s Hammer: 6 (PVP Skill)
Vanishment: 2 (PVP Skill)

Other Skills:
Other skills to consider getting would be:
Incarnation AND Resurrect – From my conversations with people on JP Rohan, this is useful in Town Battles.
Euphoria – Good for soloing
I don’t like the damage / recharge on Marea’s Anger so personally I wouldn’t get it.

Weapons:
Templar is a very expensive class! You will need to maintain several weapons to be effective.

Before Level 54:
Staff:
Usage: Soloing or whenever you want to do damage.
Options: Spear of Roha (Weapon Attack)
Stats (in order of importance): Magic Attack, Int, Vit

Wand:
Usage: Used with a shield for pulling.
Options: Goblet of Ohn (Speed) and optionally the Option that increases your Armor Defense
Stats (in order of importance): Vit, HP

Shield:
Usage: Used with a wand for pulling.
Options: Protection of Marea (200 – 400 HP) if you are daring!
Stats: P. Def.

After Level 54:
Mace:

Usage: PVP or whenever you want to do damage.
Options: At least one Teardrops of Edone (HP / MP Leech) to keep up Group Euphoria during PVE and the Attack Speed Option.
Stats (in order of importance): Melee Attack, Int, Vit

Staff:
Usage: For Buffing Blunt Mastery (See the buffing section below)
Options: Spear of Roha (Weapon Attack)
Stats (in order of importance): Magic Attack, Int, Vit

Wand:
Usage: Used with a shield for pulling.
Options: Goblet of Ohn (Speed) and optionally the Option that increases your Armor Defense
Stats (in order of importance): Vit, HP

Shield:
Usage: Used with a wand for pulling.
Options: Protection of Marea (200 – 400 HP) if you are daring!
Stats: P. Def.

I also have a Buffing Wand which just has the option which reduces MP required to cast.

Buffing Blunt Mastery (AKA Why Blunt Mastery damage is NOT Bugged)
Many people say that Blunt Mastery doesn’t do as much damage as it should and that it is bugged but from my experiences, it works pretty much the same way that it does on JP Rohan. The trick to getting the most out of your mace is how youbuff . When you cast blunt mastery, it goes off of your CURRENT Magic Attack. Therefore, you should do what you can to get the highest Magic Attack rating. Here is the proper way tobuff Blunt Mastery:

1) Buff Inteligence Blow on yourself
2) Buff Brain Blow on yourself
3) Switch to your Staff
4) Buff Blunt Mastery on yourself
5) Switch back to Mace

Your current Int value also affects how much damage your mace does, so make sure to keep Brain Blow on!
